Autism Mom on a mission! GFCF Diet, Supplements and Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments (HBOT)
Jan 28, 2008
JANUARY 27, 2008 I am a mom to a 5 year old son with Autism. I also have a neuro-typical daughter who is 3. My son was diagnosed with Autism when he was 2 years old. Early intervention was the only way to have my son back. He has been in therapy since the diagnosis, OT, Speech and ABA.
It was only in Sept 2007 that i discovered biomedical intervention for the treatment of autism or the DAN! ( Defeat Autism Now!) protocol. It has made huge improvements in my son - in behavior, eye contact, attention span and in speech. I don't know why I didn't know about this before. Though it takes a lot of hard work and determination if you really want to make this work. Currently we are on a GFCF (Gluten Free- Caesin Free) diet, mega dose of supplements and doing mHBOT ( Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments) along with the regular therapy.
I am creating this site so that i can help other moms out there like me and would like to create a support group - God knows we all need to vent out once and a while. Also, i encourage other moms and dads out there to share their stories or ideas. I will post any information that i find and think may be helpful.
Thanks for your time. May God continue to bless you and to give you strength.
For those who are interested, I have my own Hyperbaric Chamber Treatment Center, GENESIS HYPER-BIO at Esna Building, #30 Timog Ave, Quezon City. My rates are reasonable and affordable since I know the expenses incurred with a child with special needs is crazy. :) You may contact me at 0917-887-0868. Please also check my blog or under mHbot for other treatments of mHBOT.
HBOT is an alternative treatment for other Learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD. It also benefits post surgery patients, those with circulatory problems, bone injuries, sports injuries, migraines, Parkinson's, decompression sickness and more.
As of April 2008, I have been importing GFCF food items, supplements, non toxic cleaners and non toxic personal care products. Pictures and prices are posted in the photos.
**UPDATES** AS OF JULY 7, 2009 It's been a year and a half since I created this site. So many things have happened, I don't know where to start. :) To sum it all up, Ethan has improved tremendously in the last year and a half and I could not be more happy. He's actually a slow responder to treatments, as per his doctor but I'm still happy with all the progress he's made.
Ethan is now 6.5 years old. He's still doing the traditional therapies like OT, Speech and ABA. He's still on the GFCF diet and supplements. I don't think I will take him off the diet and those supplements ever. I've stopped HBOT since April due to his hectic therapy schedule but Ethan will resume HBOT next week for 1.5hrs a day. I believe that he will still benefit from it especially to improve his sleep.
Ethan is now in mainstream Kinder 2 with a shadow and is keeping up with all his school work. He is interacting with his classmates, answers the teacher when asked a question and will independently go to the blackboard to answer. Ethan also has spontaneous speech and will request for things. He's still lazy at times when we ask him questions but when it's something he wants, he'll definitely ask for it. The best thing that has happened to Ethan in the last 6 months is that he is now potty trained ( pee and poop). Yes, finally potty trained at 6 years old. I know to some people, they'll think it's weird that i'm so happy but for a child with special needs, it's a big DEAL! I've read stories of other kids with ASD who aren't even potty trained at the age of 9 or 10 years old. So, I am very thankful.
In the last few months, Ethan has also become playful and emotionally connected with us. He loves to snuggle and like when we hug him. He also asks that we lie down in bed with him before he goes to sleep, which is something he never really cared about before.
Ethan is slowly but surely progressing and coming out of his "ASD" shell. I still look forward to new things everyday with him. We still have a long way to go but I won't stop doing what i'm doing for him as long as i'm seeing improvements.
Treatments we are planning for the rest of the year: Increase in MB12 shot dosage Glutathione IV 1.5 hours of HBOT a day, will stop at 135hrs Increase in Cod Liver Oil ( Vitamin A )dosage to improve side-ward glancing Increasing B6 Dosage

The last two decades witnessed the emergence of inclusion as a philosophy in educating children who follow a typical development and those with special needs. This one-day seminar brings together the expertise of educators who have taken inclusion as one of their advocacies in helping and teaching regular children, children with special needs and their families. Aside from providing the participants with a working knowledge of the concept of inclusion, the seminar will reinforce the idea that inclusion is all about belonging and participating in a diverse society.
The seminar fee for each participant is PhP 2,500, inclusive of two snacks, lunch, the seminar kit, and a certificate of participation. If you confirm and pay your attendance on or before January 15, 2011, you are entitled to a discounted fee of Php 2,000.
